Forged signatures on cheques, agreements, admission forms and KYC packs are one of the commonest document frauds in India — and the fastest way to catch one is to hold the questioned signature against a known specimen. This free tool does that automatically. Upload two signature images and it removes the background, crops each signature to its ink, normalises size and slant, then scores eight characteristics: stroke overlap after alignment, path profile, scale-invariant shape moments, height-to-width proportions, writing slant, ink density, stroke thickness and centre of mass. You get a 0–100 similarity score, a plain-language verdict and an overlay that shows exactly where the two signatures diverge. Everything runs in your browser using JavaScript and the HTML canvas, so neither image is ever uploaded to a server. Treat the result as a screening signal, not a legal conclusion — a disputed signature still needs a qualified forensic document examiner.

How does the similarity score work?
Both signatures are cleaned, cropped and size-normalised, then compared on eight measures: stroke overlap, path profile, shape moments, proportions, slant, ink density, stroke thickness and centre of mass. The weighted result is a 0–100 similarity score with a verdict band.
Is this a forensic or legally admissible opinion?
No. It is an automated screening tool that tells you which signature pairs deserve a second look. A legal opinion on a disputed signature must come from a qualified forensic document examiner who can inspect pen pressure, pen lifts and the original paper.
What images work best?
A flat, well-lit crop of just the signature on plain paper, in JPG or PNG. Crop out surrounding text, stamps and printed ruled lines so the tool measures the signature and nothing else. Scans beat phone photos; if you must use a photo, avoid shadows across the paper.
Why did two signatures from the same person score low?
Nobody signs identically twice. Very different capture conditions — one scan and one shadowed photo, or one crop that includes a printed line — will pull the score down. Re-crop both images tightly and try again before drawing any conclusion.
